THE KING JAMES VERSION BIBLE (KJV)
Often referred to as the "Authorized
Version", the King James Version Bible (KJV) has been considered unexcelled in
literary quality and the standard for English-speaking Protestants for well over
400 years.
Commissioned
by King James I of England in 1604, the Church of England translated the Masoretic
Text and Textus Receptus into the English vernacular. The KJV was completed and
published in 1611 and remains popular today for its accuracy in translation and
poetic tone.
